Katie Mochan
Coldwell Banker Realty

I started my career as a realtor later than some but as our oldest child is almost off to college, and we are designing another "forever" home, the urge to share my personal experiences in building, designing, and remodeling many Colorado homes in the past twenty years evolved into a licensed real estate agent working for Coldwell Banker DTC, surrounding myself with the best in the business.

A little history...

I met my husband in a business law class at CSU and soon after bought our first home near The University of Denver in 1995. It was a duplex so we could rent one half and cover our rent. I am from Nebraska and my husband from Boston and our worlds collided as we decided to make Denver our forever home.

Then the house across the street went up for sale so we purchased and gutted it while living in our duplex. We kept the duplex as a rental. During that time we purchased multiple other properties as investments, fixing and selling them.

Meanwhile, I worked at Paychex for twelve years helping small businesses stay on track with payroll and HR requirements. I left Paychex to raise my kids, manage our home projects, and fundraise for our neighborhood school. I ran the UPark Home Tour for 4 years and loved meeting with homeowners to hear about their homebuying journies. The experience deepened my appreciation of the beauty and variety of homes in the UPak/Observatory Park neighborhood. Also served at all levels of PCO including the President at Aspen Academy which exposed me to gorgeous homes south of Denver in Greenwood Village, Cherry Hills, and surrounding areas.

My brother and his family live in Lowry and my mom lives in Washington Park so I have extensive knowledge of many areas in the Denver metro area. We found our next perfect home just recently in Wild Plum where we will make a Belmont Nantucket…an ode to my husband's home state and our next roost!

Building in Observatory Park

I used to drive through Observatory Park. One day I passed a corner lot that was for sale with a small original bungalow and immediately knew it was our next home. We purchased this home in 2000 and after a couple of years and growing family, we wanted more space. We took the house down to the studs, added a 2nd story and attached garage, all while living there and acting as the General Contractor. We built a beautiful home, a beautiful family, in a beautiful place!

Designing a Mountain Retreat

My husband and I share a love of the mountains and skiing and spent a 10-year stint in Breckenridge where I designed a new home that provided us a place to develop our kids into avid skiers.
